Dr Cyurs Kafian has been the Principal Dentist at Chartwell Dental Clinic for 6 years.
At Chartwell Dental Clinic we are proud to be one of the main sedation clinics in Hertfordshire and specialise in treating children and adults who are nervous and dentally phobic, providing excellent patient care.
Cyrus has been in dentistry for 27 years and has vast experience in different fields. During his 6 years with Chartwell Dental Clinic, he has worked with the team to successfully treat many very nervous or dentally phobic patients.
Cyrus has extensive experience in treating children and adults in a sedation setting. He is SAAD trained (Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry) and is certified to treat patients with Nitrous Oxide (Inhalation Sedation) and Intravenous Sedation, in addition to local anaesthetic.
In 2008 Cyrus did a one-year implant course using the Multi Implant System including Ankylos and Straumann Implants in Manchester. Since 2017 he works mostly with ‘Prosthetics’, the Southern Implant System.
He has experience in treating implant cases with special interest in full mouth rehabilitation including All In 4, single implants, crowns, and bridge treatments.
In addition to his private appointments and sedation clinics, Cyrus also provides routine NHS dental treatment to his many registered NHS patients.

Dr Lalli qualified as DDS at the Dental School of Chieti-Pescara University (Italy) and specialized in Oral Surgery with Full Honours at the same University, where in 2010 was awarded a Grant for Research training.
He has practiced in the public and private sectors, and whilst he has maintained a constant and strong interest in pursuing clinical activities as a central focus of his career, he has also been fascinated by research and academic study. From 2008 to 2012 he has held the position of Honorary Fellow/Voluntary Assistant Professor of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery, where he has acted as a member of the examination board, while also taking teaching assignments and clinical supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
In 2012 he relocated to London where he works as Specialist Oral Surgeon. Dr Lalli is author and co-author of national and international publications and is a regular attendee of postgraduate seminars.
Dr Reshma Sonecha

Reshma graduated from Kings College London in 2008. She is a general dental practitioner at Chartwell, with a special interest in Endodontics.
Following five years at dental school, Reshma worked in community dentistry treating dental phobics, children and vulnerable adults. She has treated patients under General Anaesthesia and Sedation. This was followed by a post as an Oral surgery and Maxillofacial Senior House Officer at Luton & Dunstable hospital.
She has been at Chartwell Dental Clinic since 2010 and carries out restorations, extractions, endodontics, crown and bridge work and dentures for NHS and Private patients. As well as this she is SAAD trained and provides dental treatment for patients under intravenous sedation. She is a kind, caring and enthusiastic practitioner who readily builds a rapport with patients and takes pride in all clinical work.
Reshma has a special interest in endodontics and is continuing her postgraduate education in this speciality. She recently received a post graduate certificate in this field from Kings College London and is currently undertaking an MSc at the University of Chester.
Reshma did her schooling locally at Rickmansworth School. She is married with one daughter and twin boys. She enjoys yoga, theatre, travelling and is also a professional Henna artist.
Dr Shivani Patel

Dr Shivani Patel qualified as a dentist from King’s College London in 2014, following which she completed her MFDS with the Royal College of Surgeons. She completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Conscious Sedation at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and has obtained a Distinction in the Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Sedation and Pain Management at Eastman Dental Institute.
Shivani currently works at Chartwell Dental as the Lead Sedationist, she has been providing sedation since 2017.
Shivani is an IACSD accredited mentor for doctors, dentists & nurses training in conscious sedation and has trained over 60 clinicians in intravenous and inhalation sedation techniques.
Shivani’s excellent communication skills and empathy combined with her personable nature help her to connect with patients. This coupled with her genuine interest in the wellbeing of people, enables her to build a rapport while providing an excellent level of patient care. Shivani’s aim is simple- to provide every patient who walks through the door with a personalised and unique experience, the kind they could not get at any other clinic.

Sophie is a kind and caring Oral Surgeon and Implantologist.
She qualified in 2001 from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. Sophie has worked exclusively in oral surgery having obtained her Membership in Surgical Dentistry with The Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2009.
Sophie is registered as a Specialist in Oral Surgery with the General Dental Council of UK .
Sophie has spent a year as a lecturer at the University of Sydney, Australia and continues to be actively involved with further postgraduate training and development here in the UK

I graduated from Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and pride myself in delivering exceptional dental care with my patients' needs at its heart. With a solid foundation in the fundamentals of dentistry, I can therefore offer not only the best but also the most practical dental treatments for my patients. At the core of my practice is a patient-centered philosophy, where everyone’s well-being takes precedence. This commitment, coupled with modern dental technology, creates a modern and engaging dental experience for patients.
Passionate about dentistry, I take a special interest in a comprehensive range of dental procedures, including cosmetic bonding, clear aligners, veneers, crowns, and root canals. Through my commitment to excellence and a diverse skill set, I strive to provide patients with tailored solutions for their oral health and aesthetic needs. Using a professional dental photography camera, I am able to document my patients' journeys through high-resolution pictures to enable them to visualize their teeth, discuss treatment plans, and witness the progression of various procedures through impactful before-and-after images.
Outside of dentistry, I find joy in traveling and exploring different countries, alongside playing football and going to the gym.

Dr Tina Halai graduated in dentistry from King’s College London in 2010. Following this she worked as a Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery/ Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for 3 years. She was elected a Member of the Joint Dental Faculties from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2012. In 2016, she then undertook a position as a Specialty Dentist in Oral Surgery at Guy’s Dental Hospital carrying out advanced oral surgical procedures alongside providing clinical supervision and teaching to dental undergraduate students. In 2018, Tina attained her higher specialist training qualification in Oral Surgery at the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital.
Tina is also a proficient provider of sedation and is a member of SAAD (Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry). Additionally, she is an Expert Witness for Oral Surgery and supplies independent, court-compliant expert reports, subject to instruction. Tina is also an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons (England) and continues to build upon her repertoire such that she has recently attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry.
Tina divides her time with providing oral surgery services in private general practice alongside her NHS work. Her high-quality patient care, clear communication and proficient surgical techniques have been demonstrated through excellent patient reviews across all the practices she works at.
Tina has also been involved in academic research and has published 13 articles. She has presented her work nationally and internationally and has been awarded 3 national prizes, the Adrian Tanner Prize for Surgery, the Royal College of Surgeons England Patient Safety Prize and the Association of British Academic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Oral Presentation Prize.
